The author Terry Macrae is a U.S. Navy veteran, former computer programmer, and long-time hospice volunteer.
I met a poet in 2015 who taught me most of what I know about the art of writing poetry. My poetry has been featured in the San Diego Poetry Annual, Southern California Haiku Study Group anthologies, the online anthologies Failed Haiku and Tanka Journal, the Silent Sparks Press anthology Beautiful Poetry, and the Deistic Thought and Action! webzine.
I describe my poetic voice as, “at times surprising, humorous, irreverent, quirky, and even raunchy, and I own that.” Read at your own risk.
If you want to try your hand at love, take a cruise, meet the real Adam and Eve, find out what the tabloids missed about Barbie and Ken, spend Friday night at a sports bar, or explore the universe, been there, wrote a poem about it. My muse has a deliciously wicked and weird way of expressing my imagination, when she bothers to show up, that is, and that’s a poem in itself. So, if you hate a poem, blame her, I’m just the messenger.
I live in Oregon with my wife Vicki; Togo the Siberian husky; Jasper the chihuahua; and Kit Kat the Birman cat.
